The two men charged with murdering a 27-year-old Chicago cop earlier this week were denied bail Wednesday.
Shawn Gaston, 20, and Kevin Walker, 21, are charged with first-degree murder, first-degree murder of a peace officer, and attempted first-degree murder. Gaston is accused of being the gunman and Walker the driver in the early Monday shooting that killed Officer Alejandro "Alex" Valadez.
Prosecutors said they want to treat this as a capital case, opening up the possibility of the death penalty if the men are convicted.
