Pats OC McDaniels 'impressed' by York, Marathe

The Chicago Bears were extremely busy on Friday, as they interviewed two men who could potentially be among their top coaching candidates.

The team announced that they interviewed New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on Friday.

McDaniels, who has been with the Patriots since the 2012 season after serving as the head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010, is widely regarded as one of the top available coaching candidates on the market this year. Numerous teams have expressed interest in his services, and with his resume including work with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, he is certainly an intriguing candidate.

As for Shurmur, he too has head coaching experience, with a two-year stint as the head coach for the Cleveland Browns. Most recently, he has helped transform the Vikings’ offense despite having serious injuries to players like Dalvin Cook and Sam Bradford to deal with.

The candidates are the third and fourth coaches the Bears have interviewed, as they’ve already talked to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards.
