Following Ellen Degeneres on Twitter won't make you rich, but it can put a few extra bucks in your pocket.

Just ask a Chicago family who won $10,000 Tuesday during a taping of the Ellen show.

Dozens of people converged near Cloud Gate (The Bean) at Millenium Park Tuesday night, prompted by a number of clues and hints via tweets from Ellen.

Fans were encouraged to wear their craziest holiday sweaters, and the 10 most interesting were chosen to appear on the Chicago portion of the show, via satellite. They were given 10 minutes to take a picture of a Chicago landmark and to kiss a stranger.

The winners, Melissa and Rob Walters and their infant daughter Mariah, were chosen randomly. They'll also get the full $10,000, as Ellen's show is one of the few that pays the taxes on prizes.

The full episode will air Wednesday at 3 p.m. on NBC 5.
