Even if you couldn’t afford Lollapalooza, never even heard of Pitchfork or missed the music at Wicker Park Fest, there’s still a chance to discover some great tunes this summer by checking out the Lake View Music Fest this weekend.

The bands range from local pop artists Dot Dot Dot, to New Jersey rockers The Smithereens and The Hat Guys.

Hip-hop cover band Too White Crew will headline at 8 p.m. Saturday and Wedding Banned closes the festival at the same time on Sunday.

The festival has the usual assortment of arts, crafts and food vendors, plus the Midwest's "sporty" idiosyncracy, cornhole. That’s right, enjoy some bean bag tossing with your drunken and lively cohorts.

Just be sure to get there early. It's $5 before 5 and $7 afterward.
