Derrick Rose Sends Message to All the Doubters

Rose is part of a five-day mini-camp in Las Vegas this week to try out for Team USA, but he has his sights set on more than the Olympics

Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose has a message for everyone doubting his return after several setbacks.

"I still have goals," Rose told SLAM Magazine over the weekend while unveiling his latest adidas sneakers. "Seeing those doubters out there, it's gonna be funny seeing them eat their words."

Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee last year and sat out the rest of the season. The unfortunate injury came after he missed the previous season following surgery to repair the torn ACL in his left knee.

This week Rose is part of a five-day mini-camp in Las Vegas to try out for Team USA. Rose was one of five players from the 2012 Olympic men's basketball team picked for the summer team roster.

Rose has his sights on more than the Olympics, though.

He wants to get back to the Bulls and win the coveted championship.

"We're just trying to win a championship," he told SLAM. "Hopefully next year can be that year."

We've heard it from Rose before. Ahead of last season and his latest injury, he sounded ready, telling reporters he was getting stronger every day and ready to play with aggression.

Months later, Rose admitted that perhaps he wanted it too badly.

"When I came back last time I wanted it too bad," he said. "This time I'm gonna let the game come to me."
