New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, left, easily won the GOP nomination for governor, while Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono, right, easily won her own party's primary. She will challenge him when he seeks reelection in November.

Gov. Chris Christie and Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono have easily won their parties' nominations in the race for governor of New Jersey.

Christie defeated conservative Seth Grossman in the Republican primary.

Buono won against Troy Webster, an aide to the mayor of East Orange.

    Christie is touting bipartisan support.

Buono has looked to cast doubt on Christie's claims that he has turned around New Jersey's economy. She points to continuing high unemployment and high property taxes.
