Alleged Robbers May Have Accidentally Saved Dog Stuck in Hot Car Outside Pub

According to the pub, the men did not see the dog in the backseat, but by breaking the window, they may have saved its life

A group of men who allegedly stole a laptop from a car parked outside a Chicago pub may have unintentionally saved a dog locked inside, according to the restaurant's security footage.

The Irish Nobleman Pub, located in the 1300 block of W Erie St in the city's West Town neighborhood, posted the video to Facebook on Tuesday of the incident that occurred Monday morning, according to the timestamp on the footage.

A man parked his truck outside the restaurant around 9:13 a.m., according to the video, when the restaurant said the temperature was 80 degrees, and the truck's windows were closed with the dog inside.

Around 9:34 a.m., a group of four men can be seen approaching the car, walking out of the frame for a moment before one of the men appears to break the front passenger window and another takes an object that the restaurant identifies as a laptop.

According to the pub, the men did not see the dog in the backseat, but by breaking the window, they may have saved its life.

According to the video, the truck owner came back to his car around 10:15 a.m.

Authorities did not have any information pertaining to the incident, though the Irish Nobleman said in a comment on the video that the footage had been shared with the Chicago Police Department.
