Wayback Burgers to Open First Restaurant in Illinois

The restaurant, which will be located at 2775 Showplace Dr. in Naperville, is set to open in the spring

Wayback Burgers is set to open up shop in a Chicago suburb this year, marking the burger chain’s first restaurant in Illinois.

The restaurant, which will be located at 2775 Showplace Dr. in Naperville, is set to open in the spring, though an exact date has not yet been released, the chain announced.

The restaurant will be owned and operated by local franchisee Jamil Sweis.

“We are excited to open the first Wayback Burgers location in Illinois this spring,” Sweissaid in a statement. “We believe that the area is a great fit for the brand, and we look forward to providing excellent service and top notch burgers, fries, shakes and more for foodies in Naperville and beyond.”

The news is promising for fans of the Triple Triple, a nine-patty burger with nine slices of cheese on it that has become the center of an eating competition. The Connecticut-based fast-casual franchise offers the Triple Triple Challenge on National Cheeseburger day, seeing who can devour the meat-stacked sandwich the fastest. Last year’s winner completed the challenge in 40 seconds.

According to Wayback Burgers, the Naperville location will feature a 2,150 square-foot design with a red barn board interior and white and stainless steel accents. It will also include an outdoor dining patio.
