Oprah Shows Off New Puppies on Birthday Show

The Queen of Talk celebrated her 56th birthday on Friday with a special show, and a special gift to herself -- two rescue puppies named Sunny and Lauren.

Oprah adopted the springer spaniel puppies from PAWS -- the city's largest no-kill shelter.

She called the 14-week-old pups "my new babies," and wheeled them out in bassinets to introduce them to her studio audience.

Oprah got another one of her dogs, Sadie, at PAWS last year. She said she'd let PAWS know that if the shelter got any other springer spaniels, they should let her know.

"And they arrived just in time for my birthday," she said. "They would have been euthanized if they weren't adopted, can you believe that? And now they're going home with me."

You can watch a video of the moment here.

Oprah had Paula Fasseas, founder of and chair of PAWS on to introduce the pups.
