Man Wearing ‘Scream' Mask Robbed Multiple Suburban Hotels in Hours: Police

A man wearing a Halloween mask from the movie "Scream" allegedly robbed multiple suburban hotels this week in a matter of hours.

Warrenville Police said they responded to an armed robbery around 1:42 a.m. Monday at the Hyatt House Hotel, located at 27556 Maecliff Dr.

Police said a man dressed in all black clothing and wearing a Halloween mask entered the hotel lobby and approached the desk clerk. The man, armed with a knife, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Shortly after, police were called for an alarm at the Residence Inn, located at 28500 Bella Vista Parkway.

There, authorities say the same man entered the front lobby and, armed with a knife, demanded money a desk clerk. The man was unable to get money from the clerk and fled the scene.

No one was injured in either incident, police said.

Surveillance video shows the man was about 6 feet tall, weighing about 230 pounds and was wearing a black hoodie, pants and gloves. He also had black Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star gym shoes with white laces and robber sole.
