A man running from Chicago Police was struck by a vehicle on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning on the South Side.
Chicago police stopped a vehicle wanted in a hit-and-run crash about 6:30 a.m. near the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) and 47th Street, said police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez, citing preliminary information.
The suspect, a man in his 30's, ran from the vehicle, and a police officer ran after him, Perez said. The man then ran onto the Dan Ryan Expressway.
A vehicle traveling northbound hit the man about 6:35 a.m., Illinois State Police District Chicago said.
The man remained on the scene about 7 a.m., State Police said. All northbound lanes remained closed at that time.
