Man Accused Of Stabbing Sister's Dog To Death

Resident charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and animal torture

A Portage Park man has been charged after allegedly stabbing his sister's dog to death.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Andres F. Duran allegedly attacked Diesel, the 4-year-old German Shepherd, at his home in the 4300 block of North Mobile. He is accused of stabbing the dog in the side and again in the neck.

Duran's brother-in-law stopped by the house as he was clearing the evidence, according to the Sun-Times. Duran allegedly waited inside his locked house with a knife and told police he expected an epic battle similar to fighting Satan.

The suspect's sister eventually found the dog, reported the Sun-Times. The body had been wrapped in a blanket and placed in a suitcase.

According to the Sun-Times, Duran turned himself in to the Animal Crimes Team Saturday night. He has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and animal torture.
