Indiana Groom Jailed After Allegedly Biting Bride After Wedding

An Indiana man spent his wedding night in a jail cell after a bloody altercation with his new bride

Police in central Indiana say they arrested a groom after he allegedly sunk his teeth into his bride's arm during a fight hours after their marriage.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Dillon Jess Lane after entering the couple's apartment just before midnight Saturday on a domestic-disturbance call, the Star Press in Muncie reports.

Police say the intoxicated Lane was biting his wife's arms as they entered. He also was allegedly holding his sister-in-law. Police say both women were trying to get away from Lane.

The officer said the women's clothes were covered in blood and broken furniture was strewn around the room. The newspaper reports the women suffered abrasions and bruises.

"Lane had his arms around the necks of both women," Muncie police patrolman Brian Jackson told the Star Press. "He was biting (his wife's) arms. Both women were trying to escape. Lane would not let go and had to be physically removed from the women and did not cooperate during handcuffing."

Lane was arrested on preliminary charges, including domestic battery. A name of a lawyer for Lane wasn't immediately available.
