Chicago Elementary School Locked Down After Nearby Shooting

An elementary school on Chicago's South Side was placed on lockdown Monday as police searched for suspects following a shooting nearby. 

Police said the shooting happened just after 1 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Federal Street, near Drake Elementary School.

One man was shot in the face and neck and transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Another man was also taken to the hospital with a wound to the buttocks. 

Drake Elementary school was placed on lockdown for roughly 20 minutes while police searched for suspects. 

Police said four people -- three men and a woman -- were taken into custody after the shooting. As of 2:30 p.m. Monday, they were being questioned.
