Two people were injured early Sunday morning when their vehicle crashed into a furniture store in the Edgewater neighborhood

According to Police, at about 1:00 a.m. the driver lost control of the car and crashed into the front of a furniture store on the 5900 block of North Clark Street.

Two people were taken in serious condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.

There was no structural damage to the building but glass shattered everywhere and furniture was damaged.

Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said the police Major Accident Investigation Unit has been notified of the accident and although there was no significant damage to the building, city building inspectors will still examine the store.
