Blago's Big Money Hit List

Sun-Times obtains internal document

Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was targeting a list of people for campaign cash that included four potential U.S. Senate candidates, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The newspaper obtained the $2.3 million internal campaign document dated Dec. 3. That's six days before Blagojevich's arrest on federal charges, including scheming to sell or trade the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.

Blagojevich denies any wrongdoing. A federal indictment is expected this week.

Among about 150 names on the list: J.B. Pritzker, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Rep. Luis Gutierrez and Roland Burris -- all reported to be under consideration for the appointment, although Gutierrez took his name out of the running in November. Burris eventually was named to the seat by Blagojevich.
