Illness has grounded the Rocket Man.

Elton John has been advised by doctors to cancel three concerts in the U.S. because of a "serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and influenza," his official website states.

The 62-year-old singer had to cancel a number of concerts in his native Britain.

A spokesman for the singer downplayed the level of severity of John's illness amid reports that he had been hospitalized.

"He has flu and is absolutely fine," John's spokesman told the BBC on Sunday.

The "Face 2 Face" tour with Billy Joel was put on hold in July when the piano man had "flu-like symptoms" that forced the pair to put the show on hold.

The shows, in Seattle and Oregon, will likely be rescheduled for December, Usmagazine.com reported.
