Since his death in June 2009, fans have made do with Michael Jackson's old releases, but Tuesday his new album "Michael" was released with 10 songs composed at various stages of production when he died.

Some people aren't happy with the new release.

Attorney Brian Oxman represents Joe Jackson and says Michael's father is not pleased.

"Over and over again, Michael Jackson said, no, he did not want these songs released. He had a terrible relationship with Sony because of it. He battled with them, fought tooth and nail. He didn't want them released. They weren't finished, and I think we need to respect Michael Jackson's wishes," said Oxman.

The cover art was requested years ago by Michael Jackson himself and created by longtime Jackson fan, muralist Kadir Nelson.

"You can imagine how thrilled I was to get a phone call from Michael Jackson himself asking me to do a painting of him that would tell his life story on canvas," said Nelson.

One music lover who said he often buys albums just for the cover art plans to pass on Jackson's latest release.

"Michael Jackson's OK with what he does, but he's not as hot as everybody makes him seem, now. Maybe once upon a time, before he became weird," said Jordan Bridges.

"Michael" is the first of a reported seven-year, 10-album deal between Sony and the late singer's estate.
