Sarah Palin ‘Happy' About Bristol Palin's Second Pregnancy, Views Future Granddaughter as a ‘Blessing'

Sarah Palin is speaking candidly about her daughter's second pregnancy.

Shortly after Bristol Palin passed the 34-week mark, her mom is putting on a positive front as the due date quickly approaches this holiday season.

"I can't wait for about 45 more days, and I'm gonna have a little baby granddaughter," Sarah Palin shared on CBS' "Sunday Morning." "And I'm happy about it."

Reporter Tracy Smith, who traveled to Palin's home in Alaska for the personal interview, couldn't help but wonder if this is what Palin pictured her daughter's life to be like at 25-years-old.

"That can't be how you saw this playing out," she asked. "Unmarried and pregnant again?"

Palin replied, "Heck no because being a single mom is, oh my goodness, my heart goes out to the single parents. But my enormous admiration for what it is that they're able to accomplish doing double-duty. And I watch Bristol do double-duty all the time, you know, with her little boy, Tripp."

Back in June, Bristol announced that she was pregnant with her second child. While sharing the news on her blog, the former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant called it a "huge disappointment to my family" but admitted "there's nothing I can't do with God by my side."

One month earlier, Bristol called off her wedding to Marine Dakota Meyer just days before the ceremony.

Fast-forward to today, and Palin is happy to call her future granddaughter a "blessing." She also believes that Bristol's faith in God will help her along the way.

"Well, the cool thing about putting your faith in God is he certainly is a God of second chances, and third, and fourth and fifth chances," she explained. "I screw up all the time."
