'MASH' Actor William Christopher Dies

He died from cancer in the early morning hours on New Year's Eve

    William Christopher, an actor best known for his role as Father Mulcahy on the television series "M.A.S.H.," died on Saturday, his agent said. He was 84.

    Christopher died from cancer in the early morning hours on New Year's Eve with his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara Christopher, by his side. 

    His agent said Christopher, who lived in Pasadena, had enrolled in hospice care earlier this week. 

    He is survived by his wife and two sons.
