Report: Durbin Not Endorsing Rahm for Mayor (Yet)

Sen. Dick Durbin is quoted in a report on The Hill as saying he's not endorsing Rahm Emanuel in Chicago's mayoral race -- at least not yet.

"If you want to run for mayor, you can't do it from the White House," Durbin said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Emanuel has not officially announced he's running. However, he has been polling Chicagoans, and talking to political insiders who might help him run a campaign.

President Obama has said Emanuel "would be a terrific mayor" if he chose to run.
