The Bears drafted Jonathan Bostic with their second overall picker, a linebacker from Florida.

After making a big reach by drafting Kyle Long in the first round, Bears general manager Phil Emery went with a more known entity in the second round.

Bostic was one of the top five middle linebackers in the draft. In his last season, he started all 13 games and had 68 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. The new Bear is impressive at stopping the run and goes after the ball, which will make him a good fit with the Bears' defense. Bostic was already welcomed by the man he will want to play next to:

The biggest upside to the Bostic pick is Emery addressed a huge need. Brian Urlacher and Nick Roach's departures left the Bears shallow at linebacker. Drafting Bostic helps with that problem.
