    Saturday Forecast

NBC 5 meteorologist Kalee Dionne has your latest forecast update.

    (Published Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017)

Unseasonable warmth Sunday will be met with the potential for severe storms in the Chicago area that could bring with them the threat for hail, damaging winds and possibly even tornadoes.

Thunderstorms are expected to arrive Sunday afternoon and evening, with much of the Chicago area under the slight risk category for severe weather. Southern counties, however, are under an enhanced risk for storms.

Early predictions indicated areas south of Interstate 80 and east in northwest Indiana are favored to see the strong and severe weather.

Still, questions remain over how far north the severe weather threat will extend as it approaches. The storms could shift further north or south in the days leading up, according to NBC 5's Storm Team.

High temperature are expected to range from the upper-50s for far northern counties into the 60s heading south and near the low-70s in areas well south of I-80.

That follows a more seasonable Friday and Saturday, which will likely see temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s.

By Monday, temperatures return to the 40s with partly sunny skies and windy conditions forecast.
