The potential for heavy snow on Sunday has led the National Weather Service to issue a Blizzard Warning in several counties across Illinois and southern Wisconsin—impacting travel plans for some.
A Blizzard Warning for Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kendall and LaSalle counties is now in effect, and will last through 6 a.m. Monday.
Will and Grundy counties have also been added to the warning, according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Storm Warning was issued in for North Central and Northeast Illinois, starting at 6 a.m. Sunday until midnight, as heavy snow is expected throughout the region, with six inches or more possible across the northwest suburbs. Some locations could pick up as much as a foot of snow.
More than 800 flights have already been canceled as of 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Wisconsin area is forecasted to experience anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow.
Gusty winds of 25 to 35 MPH are also in the forecast, making for potentially hazardous driving conditions as people drive back home after the Thanksgiving weekend.
