4 Injured in Chain-Reaction Motorcycle Crash on Lake Shore Drive

A cyclist lost control on his bike around 4 a.m. and crashed near North Avenue

Four people were hurt early Friday in a chain-reaction motorcycle crash on Lake Shore Drive, police said.

One cyclist lost control on his bike around 4 a.m., police said, and crashed in the southbound lanes of LSD near North Avenue.

Two other motorcycles behind him drove over the debris and crashed as well, police said. Four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but one man told NBC 5 he was OK.

"It happened so fast," Porta Harris Jr. said. "I'm coming up and next thing you know I went down, I can't believe I'm spinning, my bike is spinning."

The southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive were closed for about an hour.
