This Weekend: Wicker Park Fest

Plus: Ice Cream Festival, midnight movies, hot Sox and new bands

HIPSTER HEAVEN: Wicker Park Fest is the place to be this weekend for the 10th annual Wicker Park Fest. Enjoy live music on three stages from the likes of Hood Internet, Hollywood Holt and Team Bayside High, food, art and new this year, a children's area. SAT & SUN, 12 p.m-10 p.m, N. Milwaukee Ave. between W. North Ave. and N. Wood St.

ICE CREAM TIME! the Chicago Luxury Ice Cream Festival returns for its second year. This is no ordinary ice-cream event as local artisans, pastry chefs and chocolatiers show off cool, custom designed treats you'll not likely see anywhere else. We're excited about it for a number of reasons, including the obvious. You'll get a grand tasting of goodies from the likes of Vosges, Black Dog Gelato, Nice Cream, Homer’s, Oberweis, Trader’s Point Creamery, Ciao Bella Gelato, Bob Tail Ice Cream and Sassy Cow Creamery. 7-10 pm, Friday and Saturday at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. DO THE TIME WARP: Check out Final Fridays at the Haunted Castle’s monthly midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture, going down at at Excalibur & Vision Nightclubs. Audience members are invited to dress the part and participate in the interactive viewing experience along with live actors singing, dancing and "time-warping" along with the film. Props will be for sale to help along the audience participation, and "Erotic City," a Prince tribute show kicks things off at 10:30 p.m. Midnight, 632 North Dearborn St, $10

HOT SOX: White Sox sluggers Paul Konerko and Gordon Beckham hit up HUB51 on Sunday for a Grand Slam Party, raising awareness and funding for Children's Home + Aid foster children as part of their Bring Me Home campaign. THE COME UP: Hear some great local bands on the cusp of greatness -- aka, the come-up -- at Faith & Whiskey Sunday night. The talent showcase also offers drink specials, giveaways and more.
