Today is truly a historic day as the country swears in its 44th president and first African-American president. Of course we're bursting with pride, considering that Barack Obama is a hometown hero, after all. If you don't already have inauguration celebration plans, swing by Piece Brewery & Pizzeria in Bucktown at 9 p.m. Piece will be tapping their Inauguration beer called Inaugurale, an American pale ale. You can indulge in red and blue jello shots and enjoy Inauguration coverage and live music from This Must be the Band, a Talking Heads cover band. There is no cover charge. Don't forget that Piece's thin crust, New Haven style pizza is utterly delicious. We personally enjoy their white pizza with goat cheese, tomatoes and bacon. And save an inch or two of space for their chocolate pizza dessert, a mess of chocolate hazelnut and mascarpone cheese inspired by Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen and chef Rachael Ray.
