The Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators game scheduled for Tuesday night has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the NHL announced. TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported the potential COVID-19 scare involves the Hurricanes.

The rescheduled date will be announced when available.

"The decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts," the league said in a statement.

The Blackhawks are currently scheduled to host the Hurricanes at the United Center on Feb. 2 and 4, which is exactly two weeks from Tuesday. It should be noted as well that the Blackhawks are scheduled to visit the Predators on Jan. 26 and 27.

This is the fifth postponement of the 2020-21 season so far after the Dallas Stars had their first four games rescheduled because 17 players and two staff members tested positive during training camp. The Stars' season opener is slated for Friday against the Predators.
