2020 NBA Draft Date Set for Nov. 18, According to Reports

2020 NBA Draft date set for Nov. 18, according to reports originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

What once was tentative is now official. The NBA has finalized Nov. 18 as its modified date for the 2020 draft, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday.

The draft had been last scheduled for Oct. 16, just three days after a hypothetical Game 7 of the NBA Finals in the league's Disney World campus. But according to prior reports, the league sought to push it further back to allow for a more fleshed out predraft process (including a combine and eventual in-person interviews) and more time for teams to prepare given the soon-to-be-negotiated new realities of the CBA.

No word yet on an adjusted date for 2020 free agency, which had been scheduled for Oct. 18.

At the very least, Bulls fans have a new plot on the calendar to laser in on to look forward to after voluntary group workouts beginning Sept. 21.

Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley, who will spearhead their first draft atop the Bulls' basketball operations hierarchy, will hone in on it too. The Bulls own the No. 4 and No. 44 picks in the draft.
