Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Heyward, who was originally slated to play center field and bat in the lead-off spot, is dealing with inflammation in his left knee, and is considered day-to-day, the team said in a social media post.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon inserted Tony Kemp into the lineup to replace Heyward, as the utilityman will play second base and bat leadoff. Ian Happ, who was originally set to play second base, moved to center field and will remain in the seventh spot in the order.
