Chicago Cubs are Betting Favorites for 2016 World Series

The Cubs are currently listed at +1100 on the board, barely ahead of a group of six teams that includes the Kansas City Royals

The Chicago Cubs may have been swept out of the playoffs in October, but that has not dampened Las Vegas’ enthusiasm about the team’s prospects for future success.

That enthusiasm is evident in the latest odds released by Bovada, who have listed the Cubs as the favorite to win the 2016 World Series.

The Cubs are currently listed at +1100 on the board, barely ahead of a group of six teams that includes the Kansas City Royals, who won their first championship in 30 years on Sunday, and the St. Louis Cardinals, whom the Cubs beat in the NLDS earlier this year.

There are some good values on the board, with the San Francisco Giants (who have won the last three championships contested in even-numbered years) sitting at +2000 as an enticing bet.

In case you’re curious, the Chicago White Sox are one of the biggest longshots on the board, sitting at +5000 for next season. Only three teams (Atlanta, Colorado, Philadelphia) have worse odds than the White Sox.
