The bro-mance between Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant and free agent outfielder Bryce Harper has generated tons of headlines, and it looks like 2019 will bring more of the same.

In a photo posted to the Instagram feed of Bryant’s wife Jessica, the Bryants and Harpers rang in the New Year together, and looked like they had plenty of fun doing it:

Bryant and Harper’s friendship has been viewed by many as an indication that the free agent outfielder could want to sign on the North Side of Chicago, but potential budget constraints could limit the Cubs’ ability to make that union happen.

Even still, reports swirled in December that Cubs President Theo Epstein met with Harper and his agent Scott Boras at the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas, and asked the pair to inform the Cubs of any potential offers so that the team could try to clear payroll space to match the contract.
