Cubs Plan to Host Watch Parties at Park at Wrigley for Postseason Away Games

Cubs fans might not be able to go inside Wrigley Field to watch postseason away games this year, but they can get pretty darn close.

The team confirmed plans are being made to host watch parties during road games this postseason at The Park at Wrigley, which opened outside the stadium earlier this season.

Spokesman Julian Green released few details on how the watch parties would work. Tickets will likely be required but it's unclear if fans will have to pay to get in.

Final plans are expected to be released sometime next week.

The issue of hosting watch parties at the field first sprouted last season when the Cleveland Indians began selling out their stadium for World Series watch parties. The Cubs had never done so in previous years because they hadn't had video boards, but even with the newly added boards, the team decided not to host any events at the Friendly Confines last season.

All three watch parties in Cleveland during the World Series were sellouts, with fans watching the game on giant screens at Progressive Field.
