Jon Lester Set to Rejoin Cubs' Rotation, Team Says

Lester has pitched in three games this season, but was injured on April 8

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester will make his return from the injured list on Thursday as he’ll get the start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, manager Joe Maddon said.

Lester, who has been out of action since early April after straining his hamstring, will go up against Dodgers hurler Ross Stripling in the game at Wrigley Field.

In three starts this season, Lester has a 1-0 record with a 2.57 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 14 innings of work. He suffered a hamstring injury while running the bases in the Cubs’ home opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates, causing him to miss nearly three weeks of action.

The Cubs have yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but will need to send someone to the minors in order to activate Lester.
