Bank of America Chicago Marathon on NBC5 Chicago!

On Sunday, October 12, 2008, join NBC5 Chicago for coverage of the 31st Annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon beginning at 7a.m.

NBC5 Chicago was announced in May of this year as the Official Chicago Broadcast  Partner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in a multi-year agreement with Bank of America.

More than  45,000 runners will complete the 26.2-mile course that starts and finishes in Grant Park, and winds through 29 Chicago neighborhoods. A million spectators are expected to line the course with even more viewing on NBC5 and NBC5.com.

NBC5's Mike Adamle and Paula Faris will be joined by Ed Eyestone, two-time Olympic marathoner and long distance runner, in the booth for all the action. Out on the course, Toni Reavis, award-winning broadcaster and writer, and Deana Kastor, Olympic Bronze medalist, will be following the men and women elite runners.

In addition, Bernie Salazar, Chicago's "The Biggest Loser" winner last year, will be running his first marathon. We have covered his training and will now be with him all the way to the finish line..

The complete NBC5 anchor, reporting and weather team will give viewers the best seat in the house. Meteorologist Ginger Zee, will begin reporting on the day's weather in NBC5 News at 6A and throughout the race from Grant Park.  Pre and post race from the start/finish line will be covered by Rob Elgas, Marion Brooks and Zoraida Sambolin.

Our team of Anna Davlantes, Mary Ann Ahern, Charlie Wojciechowski, Lauren Jiggetts, Matt Rodewald and Nesita Kwan will be out in the neighborhoods from Lakeview to Old Town, Little Italy to Pilsen and down the homestretch through Chinatown.
