"The Debt" is a remake of the 2007 Israeli film of the same name, about three young Mossad agents who are sent to capture and kill a notorious Nazi "surgeon." When a man surfaces 30 years later claiming to be the Nazi in question, one of the ex agents must find the truth.
It's a compelling story, we're just not moved by what the clip has to offer, which is to say narration, and progressively faster edits and music.

The film also stars Ciarán Hinds and Jessica Chastain, who, as we've mentioned before, is poised to blow up. In addition to "The Debt," she stars in Terence Malick's "Tree of Life," Al Pacino's "Wild Salome," Ralph Fiennes' "Coriolanus" and yet another Worthington vehicle, "The Fields."
Directed by John Madden ("Shakespeare in Love"), produced by Matthew Vaughn ("Kick-Ass," the upcoming "X-Men: First Class"), and co-written by geek god Jane Goldman, the film certainly doesn't lack for talent on either side of the camera, so we're hoping this is just a case of a blah trailer.
"The Debt" opens Dec. 29.
