500th Fugitive Added to FBI “Most-Wanted” List

The FBI's “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list hit a milestone Monday with the addition of its 500th fugitive. The suspect, Walter Lee Williams, is a former university professor wanted for allegedly sexually abusing children. A man suspected of fleeing to Mexico after raping and killing a mother in front of her 4-year-old stepson became the 499th person added to the list. Since its launch in 1950, the most-wanted program has a 94 percent success rate, according to the FBI. Infamous criminals including serial killer Ted Bundy and terrorist Osama bin Laden have also spent time on the list.
