Woman Hit, Robbed and Sexually Assaulted Near CTA Red Line Station

Police say a 31-year-old woman was sexually assaulted early Saturday morning as she exited the CTA Red line at the Harrison station.

Between the hours of 3 a.m. and 3:35 a.m., the victim was followed by a man as she exited the CTA station at Harrison and State Streets. As she walked south in the 600 block of S. Plymouth Ct., the offender grabbed and struck her with a blunt object, police said.

According to police, the man then forced the woman to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her, took her purse, and fled in an unknown direction.

The offender is described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 27. Police say he has brown eyes, a light complexion, short hair, and stands between 5'8" and 5'10", weighing between 145 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black leather jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, White Sox baseball cap, and light blue jeans with white gym shoes.
