A person dressed like a delivery man took a large package from the lobby of a Chicago condo building, residents say, and appears to have been caught on video.
The alleged theft occurred earlier this month in Wicker Park, on Dec. 2, in the 2100 block of West North Avenue. Residents tell NBC 5 the man made off with several packages.
Joe Calabria is a resident of the condo and said the man randomly dialed units in the lobby in an attempt to gain access.
"That's exactly what happened so he dressed as a delivery guy had boxes in his hand that were empty," Calabria told NBC 5. “One of our residents was nice enough to let him in and he just took off with it.”
“It does make me nervous because people can get into our building very easily by just clicking on your phone,” said package-theft victim Nina Blakley.
Chicago Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the alleged package thefts.
What will residents do in the meantime?

“If I have something expensive coming I'll try to work from home and do it,” Calabria said. “But a lot of times I just … trust the system a little bit.”
