Water Main Bursts in Northwest Side Neighborhood During Historically Frigid Night

A large water main break flooded streets and homes in sub-zero temperatures Wednesday night in a Northwest Side neighborhood.

The frigid burst happened about 8 p.m. in the 5500 block of North Nagle Avenue in the Union Ridge neighborhood. At least one resident was removed from her home by police.

Crews were working in the area to help clear drains as parked cars stood in about six inches of water.

No other information was immediately available.
