Two in Custody After SWAT Team Responded to Gunfire Report Near Club on NW Side

Two people were taken into custody Saturday after a SWAT team responded to a report of gunfire near a social club in the Pulaski Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Officers initially responded about 8:55 a.m. to the call of shots fired in the 3400 block of West Peterson, according to Chicago Police. A SWAT team was then called to clear the area, and nearby streets were closed as a precautionary measure.

Two people were being held for questioning, police said. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The CTA tweeted Saturday morning that the 84 Peterson buses were being  temporarily rerouted via Peterson, Pulaski, Bryn Mawr, Kimball and Peterson.

No further information was immediately made available.
