Nearly 17,000 ComEd customers are without power as high winds continue to pound northern Illinois.
According to the utility company, 7,300 of those customers are located in Cook County as wind gusts of over 60 mph have been reported across the area Wednesday.
Over 2,000 customers are without power in Will County as of 4 p.m., and nearly 2,000 more are without electricity in McHenry County.

A high wind warning remains in effect for northern Illinois until 6 p.m. Wednesday. Until then, high-profile vehicles, including semi trucks and SUV’s, could be affected, and air travel could also be impacted at local airports.
