Teen Mows Lawn for Minnesota Sheriff's Deputy, Leaves Behind Heartwarming Note

“If it’s OK with you I would like to mow your lawn for you because your job is hard enough and I think people like you should know that we are behind you guys,” the note read

A Minnesota sheriff’s deputy came home to quite a surprise last week after a teen mowed his lawn while he was at work.

But what might be even more touching than the act of kindness, was the note the teen left behind.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s office posted to social media that one their deputies “found their lawn recently mowed… then found this note.”

The note states that the 17-year-old named Brett typically mows the lawn for the officer’s neighbor, but wanted to offer up his services to the deputy.

“If it’s OK with you I would like to mow your lawn for you because your job is hard enough and I think people like you should know that we are behind you guys,” the note read. “Take the extra hour that it takes to mow and spend time doing what you love.”

The sheriff’s office posted a photo of the message saying, “We love those we serve. Thanks Brett, you are awesome.”

“Our office is deeply appreciative of the kind words and support the law enforcement community has received,” the post continued. “We are proud to serve such a great community.”
