A trip to Target will take longer for some suburban shoppers after the retail giant shuts down two of its Chicago-area locations.
The Minnesota-based company said it plans to close a dozen underperforming stores in the new year. The list includes two Chicago-area stores, in suburban Romeoville and Matteson. [[450246333, C]]
Other locations slated to be shuttered include several Midwestern stores, in Eastland-Harper Woods and Benton Harbor, Mich., plus two in Hastings and Fergus Falls, Minn.
All are set to close their doors on Feb. 3, 2018, the company said. [[402466166, C]]
The Target closure is just the latest to hit Matteson, after Lincoln Mall a short distance away was demolished earlier this year.
