The DuPage County sheriff’s office has identified the victim found on the side of the road in unincorporated West Chicago late Friday night.
Authorities say they were called to the intersection of Highlake and DuPage avenues at 11:00 p.m. on Nov. 20, where they found a 27-year-old man who was unresponsive.
The man has been identified as Enrique Hernandez, Jr. of West Chicago, and was a documented gang member. He was taken to Central DuPage Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. They did not provide any information as to his cause of death.
The sheriff’s office believes Hernandez was targeted and are now searching for his car, a silver Chevrolet 4-door Aveo. They are asking anyone with information to contact them at (630) 407-2400.
