A teenage boy was charged Thursday evening in connection with the sexual assault of a girl in the West Englewood neighborhood a day earlier.
The 15-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile with aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm, according to police.
Authorities said the boy forced the girl into a gangway in the 6300 block of South Paulina Street and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint at about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. He then stole her cell phone, iPod and cash, they said.
The girl was transported to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
