U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson says fellow Rep. Ron Paul plans a presidential campaign stop at the University of Illinois.
Johnson spokesman Phil Bloomer said Monday that Paul will appear at a rally at Huff Hall on the university campus in Champaign on Wednesday night.
In a news release Johnson called the Republican presidential candidate a friend whom he's long admired and said he'll be proud to appear with Paul. Johnson is a Republican from Urbana. Illinois' primary election is March 20.
Bloomer said Paul has no other Illinois stops planned Wednesday.
Paul's rivals in the Republican race for the White House will also be throughout the state.
