Reward Offered in Stabbing Death of Roosevelt University Student

Rodney Kyles Jr., of Richton Park, was stabbed Sept. 3 in the chest and abdomen

A $5,000 reward was offered Friday for information that leads to the arrest of whoever stabbed and killed a well-liked Roosevelt University student over Labor Day weekend.

Rodney Kyles Jr., of Richton Park, was stabbed Sept. 3 in the chest and abdomen while walking on the 1100 block of West Wrightwood Avenue.  Kyles' father said his son and another man had just missed a house party. Words were exchanged when the pair accidentally bumped into another man.

Police said they believe that people at that party have information that could lead to an arrest.  The reward money is being put up by the family.

Police said they're searching for a white male who stands between 6 feet, 1 inch and 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 225 pounds.

He had medium-length blonde hair and a fair complexion, police said, adding that he was last seen wearing a blue shirt with buttons and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Chicago police.
