Restaurant Owners Offer Reward For Dog Stolen Outside River North Location

The owners of Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken are offering a $1,000 reward for the dog

The owners of a River North restaurant are offering a $1000 reward in hopes of finding a dog that was stolen outside the establishment earlier this week.

Kelli Kosikas, general manager at Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, 401 N. State St., wrote on Facebook that the dog, a 17-month-old sheperd mix named Caela, was stolen outside the restaurant about 7:20 p.m. Oct. 13 as the owner, James Perry, paid for food inside.

When Perry came back out, he saw that the dog was missing, and surveillance video revealed that a man had untied the dog and stolen her.

Perry is also offering a reward to whomever took the dog, saying that he will pay out the money and won’t press charges if the dog is returned.

"Just take her back to one of the shelters or the pound if you can. There’s a reward. No questions asked," he said.
