Protesters are blocking streets in downtown Chicago Wednesday, calling for officials to remove Chicago police officers from public schools in the city.
According to traffic alerts, Ida B. Wells Drive is closed in both directions between Wabash and Michigan Avenue due to protesters.
The group protesting includes picketers from the Chicago Teachers Union.
The Chicago Transit Authority is also rerouting buses through the area as a result of the protests, according to the agency.
